Correct me if Im wrong, but paranoia is probably a lot more dangerous and widespread a virus than Ebola. Its worse than airborne, its the internet. And instead of infecting your body, it infects your mind- not just your mind, many minds- and instead of a few people dropping dead, you have a nation of fear that is all the more willing to give up freedom for safety. Even the conspiracy theorists, who think theyre doing something good by alerting us all, are propagating the scare and the disgruntlement of our minds. Ive helped spread this stuff before- see a little statement, freak out, and share it, but all in all, its silly and mindless. Its just another little piece of stimuli to keep me feeling purposeful even though Im not actually doing anything about it (especially when its something like ebola~ what are you going to do about that, anyway?). So... I dont know how serious this virus is and I really dont want to know- nor do I even want to think about caring.
