Correct me if I’m wrong Patriotism is a value that helps people believe that the murder of another man is justified. In fact a mass scale massacre is called victory and is celebrated. If you look back at history especially wars like world wars we can clearly see the effects of patriotism. Mass scale destruction. People were blind to the suffering of others & there is complete loss of empathy. A winning troupe stands on a pile of corpses screaming in happiness and euphoria for “victory is theirs”. We condemn terrorism and the training given in these training camps. I wonder how it is different from training received by army personnel. If it werent for concepts and training in patriotism I don’t think leaders, kings, rulers would have been able to convince the masses to go to battle for them. I wish humans learn to actually live up to the title they have given themselves of being an advanced and evolved species. Where we begin to let go of territorial behavior and believe in sharing and group survival. We are one people one species that can peacefully co exist on this planet with no political boundaries if only we give up greed and the need to dominate and over power another. We need to give up insecurity and find through intelligence and spirituality a peaceful means of co existence. Religion, nationality, race etc are things that separate us from each other. If we were one world instead of separate nations we could be proud of not just Indian inventions but of human inventions everywhere. Not just proud of Indian culture but all beautiful human cultures everywhere. And also embrace our flaws and correct ourselves as a species overall instead of condemning another. This is however what I wish. DO I actually believe this is practical? Definitely not at this point. . In today’s world if we don’t have patriotism we will be attacked and destroyed. I can safely say if we stop being patriotic we will be destroyed by another patriotic people. We would need every being to be humanistic, emotionally and spiritually evolved to be able to lay down defenses.
