Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd says he hopes his character is not the father of Kylie Platt’s unborn child because he doesn’t want to work with a baby on set! Fans are currently watching his alter ego David on a rampage after discovering Kylie had an affair with his brother Nick. The identity of the baby’s father is yet to be revealed but Jack is hoping it’s not David’s. ... He explained: "I hope it’s Nick’s - for two reasons: one, I think it would be really good to see David absolutely devastated and then go on a bigger warpath of killing Nick, suffocating him in his sleep. "Two, I don’t want to work with a baby for the next few years. It’s hard work - they cry, they scream. When it’s your own you can put up with it!" The big reveal is still a few weeks away but for now David is busy getting his revenge on Nick by slowly destroying his life. Jack says he’s thankful that his character has this wild streak because it makes it interesting to play. He told the Evening Times: "David’s hung up his evil boots for quite a while now, so it’s good to get them back on and go raging about," he said. "I don’t prefer it, it’s just nice to dip in and out of it. It’s always good if your character has got that in his locker. "He can be evil, he can be nice, he can be funny, he can be upset - so there’s a lot to do." Jack certainly has a distinctive look when he’s playing angry David, it scares some fans but the actor says his co-stars are used to it now. He laughed: "I suppose people thought it was a bit weird at first but all the cast and crew are used to the David look. "Yeah, I can look with scary eyes, but I still wouldn’t be able to knock a fly out." ~Rianna
