Corrupt understanding by the Murjiah of Kufr duuna Kufr By Sheikh Ahmad Ibn Umar al-Haazmi The one who rules with the Man-Made Laws is not a Muslim according to the Ijmaa’ [consensus] of the Salaf [pious predecessors]. I say: “The one who rules with the Man-Made Laws is not a Muslim according to the Ijmaa’ of the Salaf. There is no difference of opinion [amongst the people of knowledge]. And that’s why several Imam’s of the Deen stated that the saying of ibn ‘Abbaas [Radiyallahu anhu] “Kufr duna Kufr” was not meant for those who remove the Shari’ah. The statement [of ibn Abbaas] is meant to be used, when a situation appear [for a ruling]. If somebody has something [i.e. Dalil; evidence] that contradicts what i’m saying let him come with it. But to force us to follow this or that person, or else we are strayed Khawaridj! No this is not from the Manhadj [methodology] of the Salaf. This is the Manhadj of Ahlul-Bid’ah [people of innovation]. And that’s why imam ibn al-Qayyim stated in “I’laam al-Muwaqi’een“, and if you are truly a seeker of knowledge find it, that the one who forces a statement [to follow] on people other than the sayings of the prophet [Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam] then he is a strayed innovator.” So how can you force people to follow statements of this and that person? Either make the case one of disagreement, then you’ll come with your Dalil [evidence] and we’ll come with our Dalil. Than we can understand the Shar’ [revelation] according to the understanding of the Salaf u Salih [pious predecessors] . But to force people to follow this and that person, has nothing to do with Salafiyyah at al. Should the one who has a different opinion follow the Manhadj of the Mushrikeen [Polytheists]? Everyone who disagrees with them, they say about him: “A mad Poet.” [Quran 37: 36] “Possessed.” [Quran 23: 70] “Sorcerer.” [Quran 51: 52] “Soothsayer.” [Quran 69: 42] Does everybody who disagrees with them from the Khawaridj? Do you know what the meaning of Khawaridj is? I swear by the One and Only [Allah] that you don’t even know the meaning of the word Khawarij as explained by to the Salaf. When the Scholars of Tafseer said that the Khawaridj used the Ayah: “And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the Kafirun.” [5: 44] upon whom did they apply this verse? [It was] on ‘Ali Radiyallahu ‘Anhu. And we confirm that Ali Radiyallahu ‘Anhu ruled with the Shari’ah. What was the opinion of the Khawārij? They were of the opinion that the situation was in contradiction with the Book of Allah. So when they quoted this verse as evidence they misplaced it. If they quoted this verse for the one who had removed the Shari’ah, then they [the Salaf] would not have criticized the Khawarij, because it is the truth.
