Cosmos: A Personal Voyage was a show back in the 80s hosted by a famous astrophysicist named Carl Sagan. He singlehandedly changed the worlds view of the universe. He was a pioneer of science, mainly in the field of astronomy. He made many groundbreaking individual discoveries such as seasonal changes on Mars, Venuss greenhouse effect atmosphere, and habitable moons throughout our solar system. He founded organizations like SETI (search for extraterrestrial intelligence) and The Planetary Society (his mission to inspire and involve the worlds public in space exploration through advocacy, projects, and education). Today, the society is the worlds largest space interest group. He made science accessible to and popular with the masses. His show is back and now called Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. Its hosted by one of Sagans closest pupils, Neil deGrasse Tyson, another famous American astrophysicist. With huge advances in computer technology, Cosmos is more interactive than ever! If youre into astronomy or if youre not into astronomy, do yourself a favor and watch this show. It is an amazing expedition through space and time. Youll learn so much! Theres a new episode every Sunday night (9pm) and Monday night (10pm) on the National Geographic Channel (871). Episode 1 will air again in about an hour (12am-1am). Episodes can also be viewed on Comcasts On Demand. Watch the amazing video attached below. Its just one example of what Sagans work has lead to. Enjoy!
