Costa Rica Day # 4 & # 5 Captains Log: 1) MORNING: Woke up at some ungodly hour for an early morning tour of the jungle surrounding the hotel. Of course I asked for the best tour-guide: SAUL 2) HOTEL RESERVE: I enjoyed this one without taking as many photos, partially because I needed a free hand to work the Bamboo Walking/Fighting Stick. The path was less flat than the National Park. I actually had to climb up and down the jungle. It was cool, and having a Bamboo Stick felt awesome...I felt like a flying monk in the jungle! I did published an album of 15 photos...called Costa Rica Day # 4 if you want to see the few I took at the Hotel Reserve. Just realized I didnt take any of the Macaws. =( 3) MACAWS: This bird is no longer in Costa Rica but the Hotel Gaia is doing a reintroduction program and has about 10 on their reserve. They will soon reproduce and populate the area. 4) CATAMARAN SUNSET & SNORKELING: After an amazing tour of the Hotel Reserve it was time for the Catamaran Snorkeling and Sunset Tour! Met quite a lot of other foreigners...USA, France, Belgium to name a few. We saw dolphins, I got a few videos of them...will post soon...and then went snorkeling. Saw some colorful fish...need to get an underwater camera for next time =) The sunset from the ocean was incredible. Even saw two birds flying in unison...actually touching each other...it seemed like a partner dance...Ill call it Air Dancing =) It was gorgeous...but by the time I got the camera the song had ended and the birds had dipped and parted ways. =( 5) DINNER: US Military Cargo Plane Bar & Restaurant....seriously. From the Iran-Contra Scandal...yep, true story. This Cargo plane is now a bar/restaurant/nightclub. I actually danced inside of it, on their dance-floor to Bachata & Salsa of course!! lol. Met some people from Germany who knew how to dance Salsa & Bachata as well. DAY # 5: 6) SPONTANEITY IS MY LOVER: Had to pack and leave the jungle...for the city...the Capital. I had a last minute spontaneous idea and booked a hotel room using hotels to spend one night in the capital dancing Salsa & Bachata before going to the Yoga/Salsa/Bachata/Life Retreat. So I Facebooked my Costa Rican friend and Salsa Champion: Lucía Jiménez to ask her if she could take me out dancing for one night...she obliged. 7) NIGHTCLUB: Went to a local nightclub, but before my local tourguides took me to a very authentic Costa Rican Restaurant. I ate chifrijo. It was a bowl of rice and beans with pork covered with avocado and a few other delicious ingredients....Im having this again!! The nightclub was amazing as they had a great live band that played not only Salsa & Merengue but also Boleros...people dance the Boleros (ballads) similar to Bachata...I watched a few guys and did what they did...learned a lot of new moves. Then Lucia taught me some Costa Rican Tipico Swing Criollo...I need to work on it, but I can handle it. Last but not least I had a Rueda/Cuban Style exchange with one of the locals...he taught me some of his Rueda moves and I taught him some of mine...Mutualistic Symbiosis...ALWAYS the best way to LIVE!! Ill have photos and videos up soon from Day # 5. Now let me go make Day # 6 happen...See you later =) PURA VIDA!!!
