Cottage Grove paramedics were dispatched to 494 in Newport on multi-car crash yesterday evening. The MN State Patrol is doing the crash investigation. The purpose of the post is to remind everyone to pay attention. Hopefully the pictures show us all the importance of seatbelts. This could have been much worse. The white car was stopped on 494 behind the silver car and was rear-ended by the black car at almost highway speeds, who spun the white car out of the way before it crashed into the silver car. The trunk of the white car was pushed up against the front seats. Fortunately there were no back seat passengers in the white car. The driver of the silver car denied injury. The driver of the black car and her child (unknown age of the child) refused transport. The driver of the white car and front seat passenger were taken to Regions with complaints of back and neck pain.
