Cotton curtains come out of the washing machine fresh and clean, - TopicsExpress

Cotton curtains come out of the washing machine fresh and clean, but often very creased, and this takes up much ironing time. Try this... Dissolve one tablespoon gelatine in a cup of boiling water and add it to the final rinse. The curtains will come out smoother. The same applies to glazed cottons. A very successful window cleaner is soda water. This will dry without all the streaks that can drive you crazy. Windowsills, especially the outside ones, are big dust collectors too. Wash them thoroughly and when they are properly dry, take clear wax polish and spray over the surfaces lightly. Try to remember not to wash windows on a hot day, because your chosen washing solution will dry straight away, leaving the glass streaky and often worse than before.
