Posted August 29th, 2013 - 3:32 pm by Caroline Schnur from Vienna, Austria (Permalink) Hey everyone, Right now im in Cambodia but soon im gonna arrive in Ho Chi Minh City. One of the things im planning to do there is visiting the tunnels of Cu Chi. Was wondering if someone was interested to join in and come along - or also if someone has alredy been there and can give me some recommondations of how to best get there. Ill probbly go there on the 3rd of September. Anyway, just let me know if someon is interested in coming! Cheers, Caroline Reply Khang Nguyên Report! Posted August 29th, 2013 - 5:58 pm by Khang Nguyên from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam (Permalink) I went to the Củ Chi tunnels twice this month so Im not ready to come back there again, but here are some tips that you may want to know xD First, the Củ Chi underground tunnels system is very big, and is divided into 2 complex, one is called Bến Dược and the other is Bến Đình, both are served as a tourist attraction. However, most of the foreign tourists go to the Bến Đình one, as they have English speaking tour guide there and also the place for real shooting. About transportation, I always went there by motorbike but I just google it up and I found the cheaper way to go: by bus. But I have to notice that it might cause some inconvenience. From the big bus station near Bến Thành market, just take bus No.13 to go to Củ Chi bus station, and from there take another bus number 79 to the Bến Dược temple. Then all you should do is just to ask people how to go to Bến Đình tunnels (địa đạo Bến Đình) then you just walk there. Going by bus I would say, is amazingly cheap, one way costs less than $3 but you might be pretty tired after the trip. And you must take care of your belongings very carefully. Once you enter Bến Đình tunnels, you will have a guide who will take care everything. The ticket is 90.000 VND (4.5 US dollars). Another way is to take a travel service where you can register in any travel agencies on Phạm Ngũ Lão street (backpackers area, district 1). The tour would cost an estimated of $15 US dollars. Or, I have a friend who studies Tourism and he wants to go there by motorbike around the time you go. I can tell him about you to see if he can give you a lift. A small problem is that he speaks very poor English but I guess its not a big deal, huh? And the last thing, Im not comming with you but Im willing to be your guide here, in the city. Just drop me a line if you want to. Here is my Faecbook so that we can talk more easily: facebook/dovunguyenkhang Reply Abdul Vanna Report!
