Could anyone explain the Muslim position on Jesus calling Himself I am the name of God? The Jews clearly understood it as blasphemy (claiming to be God) and intended to put Jesus to death by stoning for this claim to be God. 3.John 8:24, unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins. 4.John 8:58, ...before Abraham was, I am.A.Exodus 3:14, God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” And, given that Jesus claimed to be God, why do Muslims deny His divinity and call him a prophet? In my mind, that is like declaring a man who says he is a poached egg to be a great prophet. Do prophets in Islam prophesy lies?
