Could anyone recommend a good vet for ferrets (Im north Oxfordshire / south Northants) and prepared to travel. My local vets want to change £120 per spay operation for my 3 jills and £150 to vasectomise the 1 hob which seems a lot! And speaking to them, I dont think they know much about ferrets because when I was discussing options, they just told me to jill jab them once a year - but reading here that doesnt seem like an ideal solution. After spaying do the jills put on weight or does it affect their working ability? (mine work lightly but they are also pets). Many thanks.
