Could not be more disappointed in a member of the aviation community. Our portable aviation transceiver was stolen out of the plane over the weekend at a rural airport, most likely by the fuel guy. I guess he needs it more than the safety of the animals we fly is concerned. For those who are unfamiliar, these are handheld back up radios that we use in case we have a radio failure or an alternator failure( stuff that happens when you fly a machine) and the handheld is our back up means of communication with ATC. We always keep ours in the cockpit, in arms reach and noticed it was missing after we left a rural airport that we hadnt been to before. We were getting fuel and ran inside to use the restroom. 5 mins later we were back in the air. Im not going to call this person out by name, but you know who you are and I hope Karma finds you one day. That is now $280 that we have to take out of our rescue flight budget, which means we will have to say no to a flight of animals and they will get euthanized...all so you could have a stupid radio. I put the item on our wish list in hopes someone might be in the position to help but we will have to buy one soon because I hate flying without a backup.
