Could usually care less about remakes, but just caught wind of Hollywoods intention to remake the Raid, with the director of the Third Expendables & starring that guy that played Gambit that once & couldnt even do a cajun accent. The Raid is an Indonesian film from three years ago about a SWAT team raid on a gang infested high rise in Jakarta. Its 90% dudes beating the shit out of other dudes, so its not like there is much in the way of cultural nuances being missed here on modern audiences, even in the flyovers you always tend to underestimate. Why a remake, American Film Industry? Is there really that large a percentage of the audience out there so adverse to reading the relatively few subtles between asskicking sessions that they have to water down a damn near perfect movie? Its like rec & Quarantine all over again with you stupid, stupid people but even worse. Way worse.
