Could you give a home to Pluto? themayhew.org/pluto Shes a gorgeous, friendly cat who once had home but was left out in the street without being spayed and became pregnant. Pluto had to give birth outside in the cold and rain in somebodys garden. She gave birth to eight kittens, and struggled to feed and protect them whilst trying to find enough food to feed herself and the kittens. Luckily a member of the public called us and, as Pluto was so friendly, she has been taken in for rehoming. However the kittens have grown up feral as theyve never had contact with humans, so we have neutered them, treated them for worms, fleas and ticks and returned them to the lady’s garden to live, where they get fed everyday. This case highlights the importance of getting your cats neutered before they ever step foot outside, and how one friendly domestic cat has started a small feral colony, which had The Mayhew not stepped in and taken action, would have gone from eight cats to at least 25 in less than a year! This is something The Mayhew deals with all too often, and shows just why getting your cats neutered is so important.
