The so called austerity measures are hitting the disabled in our community the hardest! It is time every single one of us stood up & said NO MORE CUTS to our life-saving Welfare & Pensions and demanded the Corporate Welfare State and the lucrative tax-avoidance schemes are abolished so Banks & Corporations and the increasingly rich elite pay their fair share, so the rest of us dont have to be driven further & further into poverty! More welfare cuts are also inevitable, he said. This may require radical moves to scrap the existing system of housing benefit, means-test disability allowances, cut pensioners’ bus passes and winter fuel payments and abolish the “triple lock” that guarantees the state pension will rise by at least 2.5 per cent each year, he said.
