Councilman Dee Andrew Gives Away 1,200 Backpacks Filled with School Supplies This past Saturday was a great day for the families in the 6th District. We gave out so many needed items for the students and the families. I want to thank Mayor Robert Garcia for stopping by, as well LBPD Deputy Chief Luna for his safety presentation and LBFD Chief Ellis. A special thank you to all the volunteers especially Rebecca Younger for helping us get the backpacks and hot dogs for all the kids. Also, Alma Campos and New Generations, as well as Victory Outreach of Long Beach. There are a lot of families that are barely getting by in our city. The extra cost of purchasing school supplies can cause financial hardships.
