Councils across the country spend hundreds of thousands of pounds each year, putting traffic lights and pedestrian crossings onto busy roads. These have complex systems that hold some traffic while other traffic keeps flowing. Meanwhile pedestrians are kept safe from the traffic by a simple system of red and green man symbols. Why oh why, oh why then, is it that so many kamikaze pedestrians ignore this simple system and walk out into oncoming traffic, putting themselves, their childrens and other peoples lives at risk...TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF A ROAD!!!!! Stupid is as stupid does, I guess.
