Countdown: 50 songs of the last millennium. Though I loved - TopicsExpress

Countdown: 50 songs of the last millennium. Though I loved this song from whatever I had heard over the radio as a kid, I became particularly attached to it as a 23 year old working at a Godforsaken offshore site. The river was as wide as the sea, and the site had been levelled using stone of various sizes. One of my favourite pastimes during the winter was walking on the stones with a cane in hand and going to the edge of the river to lookout for dolphins. Not entirely sure why I used to sing this song in particular. Maybe it was the tranquillity, maybe the soft sunshine, maybe the sea breeze, maybe the melody - which was a favourite of Bulan (have tagged her)... there could be countless other possibilities. Interestingly, I never cared for the lyrics, and used dummy words and the da-da-das in various degrees, depending on what I actually wanted to sing, while conveniently skipping the mid portion of the song which I thought was a drag. My wait for it moment was - and remains - Manna;s return to the coda.. and closing the song on a very serene and positive note. https://youtube/watch?v=1lieuCEc_wI
