Counting my Blessings... Evansvilles Westside Nut Club Fall Festival This event is probably one of Evansvilles most anticipated and attended. And for good reason, its fun. But what I find amazing is the number of people who dont truly comprehend all the good things that come about as a result of this event. The majority of food booths lined along the blocks of Franklin Street and the parking lots are there to raise money for their organizations, for some this is their biggest fundraiser of the year. These people are not there for profit, they are there to keep their causes going. But it goes much deeper than that, the profits from the rides and games is also money that is being poured back into our community. The purpose of the Westside Nut Club is to initiate, promote and support any and all movements which are for the betterment of the Westside of Evansville, IN; also for the betterment of Evansville as a whole .... And they do. Organizations all around Evansville have been recipients of the profits garnered by the Nut Club; from computers to playground equipment to scholarships. The Nut Club members work hard all year round and they do it for the betterment of our community. ...Today, I am thankful for the Westside Nut Club...
