Counting the promises, religiously; Dating back centuries and decades Promises has been made and broken Some was selfish Gathering all for themselves Preaching the message of giving Making people go out of their way Using God as a witness Quoting the holy book To extort the poor in their midst Advocating for earthly treasures Satisfying the yawning of the crowd Leaving the original message from the cross Depriving them of spiritual growth Screaming aloud prosperity messages Without the inward purification That is expected to reflect in the traits Of those born again Many shepherds has failed in their duty To water the flock properly To bring about spiritual and phisical upliftment Instead The pot belly is fed Declearing countless empty promises from their cursed lips Causing the congregation to believe in deceit How long will the sweet talkers continue to exploit Those they were sent to guide and teach And rescue from the bundage of sin Hmm They have broken the oath they took To say the truth nomatter how rude.
