Countrymen/women might be wondering that can Mr. Narendra Modi actually bring change if he becomes the PM of the Indian Democracy. Many might be wondering that is Development merely his political agenda. Many a times when I travel out of Gujarat colleagues there ask me, “is it all real? “Is Narendra Modi that effective?” Can he really bring change? Countrymen/women who have not stayed in Gujarat may have not seen how Modi government has fared. Why many Gujaratis like me are inspired by Narendra Modi and why we want to see him as Prime Minister? The major reason is we can trust him because we have witnessed him work for the state and brought positive changes. We have seen him ‘DO whatever he SAYS.’ Below mentioned are few pointers out of many which I have witnessed first-hand. Also mentioned my views and how it has positively affected me: 1. Roads - When he says infrastructure is important and government should focus on it, in Gujarat actually it is an infrastructure heaven! The reason of development across the state is due to the smooth and accessible roads. My view– The long hours of driving becomes awesome long drives and can drive often without any fatigue to places as far as 300 kms and come back. Good roads and traffic control indeed 2. Safety – I feel harassed when police stops me at combing (deep patrolling) nights at 1 am. But then I just see a young woman swiftly driving her bike completing her night shift at a hotel without any fear. My view – I, belonging from hospitality industry can easily mobilize staff in hotels, restaurants at any time without concerns even late night shifts! 3. Infrastructure – That’s the base to any industry. And the CM of Gujarat had realized this years ago. Due to easy availability of land and smooth surfaced roads passing by, many corporate firms from and outside the state got inspired and set up their business houses, factories, production houses. Industrial parks, agricultural parks, textile parks, automobile parks, SEZs are few of the initiatives of Gujarat Government. My view – Hospitality is an important part of infrastructure. See immense opportunity in the industry. 4. Business opportunities – Due to world class infrastructure and still improving, industries came in and industries attracted many business opportunities. Ancillaries, trading firms, HR firms, supply chains, logistics, hotels, transportation and what not!! My view – you name it and it’s available in Gujarat. Very favorable business environment. 5. Job opportunities – Have come across hundreds of talents who have made Gujarat their home and don’t wanna leave back! Settled here for good, they come from length and breadth of the country, they belong to different professions. They are CEOs of business houses, academicians, bankers, businessman, sales professionals, artists, artisans, chefs, general managers, and of-course lakhs of down the line staff. My view – This phenomenon of so many citizens across the country coming down to a tier 2 city as Ahmedabad does not surprise me because, where businesses are thriving job opportunities are immense. 6. Water supply – The ambitious project of connecting dry rivers with water loaded rivers is on its implementation in full force. I belong to the city Ahmedabad which is situated on the banks of river Sabarmati. As a child I had seen the river empty and on the river bed there was a lot of other stuff but water. Teenagers played cricket on the river bed, off road vehicles moved, fun fairs circus and what not. Everything but water. It been ensured that Narmada the overflowing river’s water are available and the city has never ever cried for water since years!! The ambitious project is being implemented in the entire state. My perspective: Before 15 years I have witnessed severe water shortages. In all these 15 years the water supply is consistent and in-fact improving. 7. Cultural values – Uttrayan was never celebrated in the manner it is done now! Kite flying enthusiasts across the world are attracted to the famous kite flying festival of Gujarat. Along with the competitive environment which happened even before, now we see exotic international kites taking over the Gujarati skys! The lakes, the riverfronts, historical monuments and public parks often witness cultural, musical and dance festivals. The walls of municipality building and government buildings are painted with graffiti, paintings with messages and awareness. My view – Since 15 years citizens of Gujarat have come closer to their culture, infact the cultural heritage have come near them. It would not have been possible if it was not powered by the Government 8. Attracting businesses: When a state hosts a business summit other states becomes there partners. When Gujarat does a business summit the partners are not only states but countries world-wide partner the mammoth sized summit. Japan, Canada, Austria are few countries who supports the summits. Since long they have been coming to Gujarat now and have set-up businesses and production houses in the state. My view – I simply feel proud when companies like Bombardier, Mc Cain, Ford, Range Rover set up shops in the state. When Modi was nominated for CM of Gujarat, people then used to believe that he is a good party worker but good party workers cant make good CMs. He has been Gujarats CM for 15 years and streamlined the administration. Its a deja vu where i keep hearing A good CM cant be a good PM. i am pretty sure he can... When i say that i will vote for Narendra Modi of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for Narendra Modi For PM, i m not gonna vote a person i m gonna vote development, news ideas, long trem vision, i m gonna vote a good life :) Vote responsibly, Suril Udeshi
