County commissioners, employees clash over budget cuts SNOW HILL—Greene County commissioners clashed with county employees and concerned citizens during the May 29 budget workshop. Commissioners continued to hash out a viable county budget for fiscal year 2013-14, which begins July 1. Several Greene County officials and citizens concerned about the county’s financial state attended the workshop. Interim County Manager Richard Hicks did little to assuage their concerns. “I don’t think there is anything in here for anybody to like,” Hicks said. “Our revenues are significantly down. I don’t see those getting any better.”
