Couple movie reviews here. I was finally able to sit through Sharknado....somehow. This movie has been chasing me for a while now. Saw it for sale at wal-mart. Saw it for sale at Best Buy. Multiple references to it AND its possible sequel in multiple TV shows. Let me tell you, the ONLY thing this movie had going for it was the semi-believable plot that a class 4 hurricane starting in the middle of the ocean picked up a TON of sharks and started raining them down on L.A. when it touched ground and became 3 class 5 tornadoes. Other than that, the acting was horrible (as is to be expected in a movie called Sharknado) and the visual effects looked like something out of 1992. I think its cool that the Sci-fi channel wants to make Sci-fi movies, but damn.... theyve been at this long enough that they should have enough money to at least make this stuff look real! Movie 2: Shark Week. Not the Discovery Channel Shark Week. But a movie from, I believe 2012. Again, cool concept about a group of people stranded on an island owned by some dude with lots of money and forced to go through unbeatable obstacles involving sharks to win their freedom from the island. But once again, visual effects just dont live up to todays standards..... by any means. I understand not having the budget for Top of the Line visuals but this crap looks like it was made in some high school students basement. All in all Sharknado is only worth watching if you want to watch the second one if they ever make it (i think), and Shark Week, is just not worth the watch. The third movie I watched was Bram Stokers Dracula. Yes, the one from the 1990s with Gary Oldman and Wynona Ryder. Believe it or not, Ive never really been that much of a fan of vampires. I enjoyed the hell out of Interview with the vampire but couldnt even sit through the first 10 minutes of Queen of the Damned. Ive always been more of a zombie person. I did enjoy Dracula for some reason. Possibly simply because it was well acted even though there were a few things I didnt understand about it. Like why, does Dracula become what appears to be a were-wolf when feeding? And whats the deal with cutting off the head? Either way, Gary Oldman just made that movie entirely. I barely noticed Wynona Ryder or anyone else that was in that movie. In conclusion, Im glad I watched it, but its not on my List to Buy. Well, this was fun! Maybe I should look into pursuing a career as a movie analyst! Just kidding! We have enough of those. I will pursue more relevant endeavors that assist man-kind :P
