Couple of interesting points on the Michael Brown shooting. He was shot six times. First, the story makes the statement: The last two shots in the head would have stopped him in his tracks and were likely the last fired. The last I heard, police officers are trained to beging firing to neutralize a deadly threat, and to continue firing until they are reasonably certain the threat has ended. The examiners sketch shows four shots to the right arm, and the final two to the head. The attorney for the family had some rather strong remarks about the number of shots fired, but those remarks seem oblivious to the training. It also is interesting to note some witness remarks that indicaged Brown charged the officer when shooting began. Ill include that link in the comments section. The bottom line is that everyone seems all too eager to judge this officer, yet all the facts in this case have not been disclosed as the investigation is under way. I suggest everyone keep an open mind. While it is awful that an unarmed man was shot by a police officer, we still do not know the details of the shooting. Without those, we have no idea what kind of threat the officer perceived or why. I understand the worries about the police response to the rioting, but the rioting is an emotional response to a death, and that response may or may not have a factual basis. Our Constitution does presume innocense until guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Lets not rush to judge this cop.
