Couple of years ago, my father wanted to arrange a donation for the library we have in our village. The library belongs to a 40-year old cultural club we have, namely Chalantika. A beautiful bengali name, a club that had been the nativity ground of many memorable cultural activities produced and curated by my father and his kind and peers. Unfortunately, his plea failed. Some of his then present kin and peers wanted donation for building a mosque of their own. And we all sighed. With due respect to everyone, mosques are needed for pious Muslims who seek to find their inner peace as suggested by the holy book. Libraries too are needed for quenching thirsts of curious mind and a budding generation that reads book are sure to be enlightened with the rays of truth and practicality. Seeing the following pics of beautiful libraries around the world, I can only sigh, again. May be someday I will build a library like one of these. May be that day, I will feel happy.
