Couple things: playing with the new pup with my roomie last night - TopicsExpress

Couple things: playing with the new pup with my roomie last night on The Stairs of 1001 Robin Injuries, when, to no ones shock, I cracked my everloving skull on the handrail and gave myself a concussion. (Jason checked to see if I needed stitches; alas, I did not). So I decided to spend the day vegging on the sofa with the three canines. Second: Terry and I made a long list of many things wed like to do this year, including reading a multitude of books. During this mornings Skype session, we got to talking about Paris and various aspects of the attacks. The topic evolved into the Holocaust, as I watched a discussion on Morning Joe. I then told him Night by Elie Wiesel was a MUST READ. Id read it a few years ago and went to look for it on my bookshelves. We decided, since its so short, that I would simply read it to Terry, a few chapters a day. Listen, while its heart wrenching to read it silently, its even more gut wrenching to read it aloud. We got thru the first thirty pages by 930 this morning and I havent been able to shake it all day. Third: I just watched Boyhood on demand. It was amazingly filmed over 12 years of this kids life. Its remarkable, and the last line of the movie sums the whole thing up. Im sure it will receive some Oscar recognition. But Patricia Arquette won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Look, I like her, I like her role, and...granted...I havent yet seen all of this years nominees. But my God! Is she Lupita good? Was that role in any way comparable to last years nominees? Lupita absolutely deserved her awards...and so would Jennifer Lawrence for American Hustle. If that was the best acting for this year, we can probably all save a lot of money. With that said, however, I am glad I watched it.
