Couples Advancing Together (CAT) is a program focused on providing employment development, case management services and healthy relationship skills training to couples with children. The primary objective of CAT is to help couples move toward stable relationships and family-friendly employment that improves their economic circumstances and provides support for lasting family units. Through a six-week client participation period, the CAT program educates clients and provides them with the essential tools needed for their success at home, in the workplace, and society. With the help of employment specialists and facilitators, participants develop a written family-focused career plan, learn what is needed to compete in the job market, and attend couples-focused group sessions which concentrate on teaching skills for employment readiness and financial literacy. This program helps couples achieve greater economic stability while building healthier relationships.
