Courage Story 5 ~~ Jason Neumann Think for a moment if you can about leaving everything behind for love. Your home, family, friends and your beloved Honda Civic or whatever your first car was your entire life to start a new life half way around the world. Well that is exactly what Jason did. He met my daughter on line and after a year of constant communication and one two week holiday here in the U.S Jason and Sharrie wanted to get married. That is easy, just do it. One very large obstacle presented itself; Jason lived in Australia, someone was going to have to move. This is where the courage comes in. Jason up rooted himself form all he had ever know, Springvale, Melbourne, Beechworth all the places he held familiar, family and friends and childhood memories and he even had to get rid of his first car a Honda Civic. He boarded an airplane with he’s American fiancée and left his childhood home behind. Everything was different, right down to the holidays; no more Australia Day, Melbourne Cup Day and Fathers Day is celebrated in September not June. As for driving what the heck, the man had to learn to drive on the wrong side of the road for heaven’s sake in a car with the steering wheel on the passenger’s side. The paper work and the deadlines were overwhelming but Jason hung in there. Sharrie is quite lucky Jason is an excellent cook and when you have a wife who has an eating disorder like celiac disease cooking is much more difficult. Not only that the girl hates to cook. Jason’s courage is something to be admired I cannot tell you how much he is loved and how fortunate my daughter is to have such a wonderful man for her husband.
