Course was pretty short, so my official time of 4:53:45 has a big asterisk -- but still really satisfied with how I did at the Lake Logan Half yesterday, despite a pokey swim and a punishing bike course. Happy to see improvement from my last half (Jones Carolina Half in Sept. 2013): There, I was in the top 26 percent of 345 finishers; yesterday, I placed in the top 14 percent of 528. If you care to find my results (just now finally posted at setupevents), youll see that my greatest strength continues to be T2, with T1 not far behind. So, if anyone ever wants transition lessons, Im available... Also, while it is no fun to get crushed in the water, it is very enjoyable to only get passed by 3 people over the course of 1 hour and 35 minutes while picking off somewhere in the neighborhood of five dozen others. As always, thanks to Kelly and Meghan at Fillnow Coaching for continuing to get me fitter every day, to the team at Inside-Out Sports for keeping my bike running smoothly, to the Timex Factory Team, and to the fun friends who made the weekend so great. And with that, my next race will be 140.6 miles long.
