THIRD SUNDAY SERIES AT THE LeDUC HISTORIC ESTATE The November 16, 5 p.m. Third Sunday Series at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN 55033 will feature artist and writer David Youngren and harpist and vocalist Chris Ward. Please call 651-437-7055 to make required reservations. Cost of this talent-packed event is $20. Refreshments will be served. David Youngren, Hastings native, started taking daily pictures of the changing riverfront of Hastings in 2010. He started a Facebook page and invited others to follow along the four-year journey of construction of the new bridge, the arches, and the calculated demolition of the old bridge, Old Blue. His publication, Our Bend in the River, highlights the best views, the most memorable moments, and the modern engineering marvels it took to create the new crossing in Hastings. David also briefly describes his childhood-fueled enthusiasm for life along the riverfront, his passion for the towns bridges, and what brought him to this bend in the river. David will be signing and selling books, and will explain in depth his passion for photography and writing. Following David Youngrens presentation, at 6:30 p.m., harpist and vocalist Chris Ward will perform. Minnesotan Chris Ward has appeared in numerous movies and television programs, was a member of the original performing troupe of Excalibur in Las Vegas, has appeared in Life Magazine as the harpist at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Chris has appeared at the Guthrie Theater, the Eisteddfod in Wales, and has performed for the Kings of Sweden and Norway, and most recently for the Prime Minister of Iceland.
