Covenant name. And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren:and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. Names mean so much in our community, everybody has a name. A medium to specify, identify and remember people. Events, circumstances and wishes are the reason for some names. A prayer, a desire, an expectation could also give one a name. Names are significant to the events of your life Names follow people as predicted, some to honour others to dishonour. When the events and circumstances dishonours , they are changed. These changes happen when the bearer come of age & understanding. Names are changed when light prevails. Blessings also changes names. The person is no longer identified by his real name but by his testimony. It removes Abu, and adds Abraham, Eze is forgotten and Isaac is remembered. The covenant reproduces events after the order of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Change of status changes your name. The covenant, changes your name to blessing. Those that call on the covenant keeping God end up with a change of name. And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.Genesis 48:15-16. Covenant fathers give names that provoke blessings. Let the blessing specify, identify and remember you. May your name be changed by every covenant encounter. May the circumstances, situations and events of your life be covenant predicted. The last four months becomes your best months ever. Receive a new name by the covenant. Blessing is my name.
