Covered In Gold Revelation 1:13 said Jesus was “girded across - TopicsExpress

Covered In Gold Revelation 1:13 said Jesus was “girded across His breast with a golden girdle.” The Greek for girded is “perizonnumi”. It means “to fasten garments with a girdle or belt.” Metaphorically, it speaks of fastening a garment “with truth as a girdle; to equip oneself with knowledge of the truth.” To obey the truth is equivalent to fastening a golden belt around our covering tunic, keeping everything intact. Because of the great increase of falsehood that has inundated the American church, she now pathetically stands there with her pants down at her ankles, exposed and unable to move as she ought to. In this state she will inevitably trip and fall. The Lord’s rebuke of the lukewarm Laodicean church in Revelation 3 is America’s rebuke. He said in verses 17-19, “Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,’ and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich, and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; be zealous therefore, and repent.” According to the Lord, His gold is that which is refined by fire. It is gained through the ministry of the Holy Spirit known as the baptism of fire. These fiery trials are the unavoidable working of the Lord in the Christian’s walk used to purify and liberate His children. He does this so that we may share in His holiness, a holiness “without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). Purity in Christ gives us eyes to behold His glory. May the Lord convict all of us during this window of opportunity before He returns. This is His last call. God bless you.
