Craig Pio - A New Beginning In Pro Modified Added Images From Black Rock Photography For years people have known the name Craig Pio from his days of Quick 8 racing through his last year in Outlaw 10.5 when at Cecil County he suffered a horrific crash in his Montana Brothers Built Camaro which was totally destroyed sending the engine a full 1/8th mile down the track landing next to the scoreboards (A testament To Montana Brothers Race Cars Safety). Craig Pio has now elevated his need for speed into the Pro Modified ranks sporting new ownership of the 53 R2B2 Corvette previously owned by Roger Burgess and driven by Melanie Troxel that set the Get Screened America Pro Mod Series NHRA National Record at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park 5.771 seconds at 258.71 in 2011. Pio had made his name in Outlaw 10.5 setting his own personal bests at 4.03 at Cecil County in the now defunct Camaro. Craig ventured into the first PDRA race at the Rock getting in the ladder eventually losing to the winner Todd Tutterow in the semi finals. Just a week later Craig Pio would come back to his 1320ft roots and wring out the Pro Mod at MIR Door Wars with the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Associations Season Opener. Craig Pio qualified at number two with a blistering 5.950 @ 250. Ed Burnley would end Craig Pios day in the second round with a holeshot 6.08 to Pios 6.03. The team of Pio Racing including good friend / promoter / established champion and drag racing cohort David Hance will surely get this beast down the track in quick fashion. Pios White Knuckle Driving Skills and David Hances tuning / track knowledge abilities will challenge the best there is this year.
