Cranes trio out of travelling squad The goalkeeping trio of experienced Robert Odongkara, Dennis Onyango, and Benjamin Ochan were left out as Uganda coach Micho Sredojevic on Thursday named his 18-man squad to travel to Madagascar. The Uganda Cranes open their 2015 Afcon qualification away to Madagascar on Sunday hoping to post a positive result ahead of the return leg of this second round preliminary test. On leaving out Onyango, Micho explained that flight connections would not enable the Bidvest Wits shot-stopper to connect from South Africa to Madagascar in time after his side’s Saturday game. “You cannot rule out the player being delayed by inland transport even if he makes it to Madagascar,” Micho said. Victoria University’s Ochan, who kept goal for the Cranes at the Chan Championship in January was, meanwhile, surprisingly dropped in favour of inexperienced Viper’s goalkeeper Ismail Watenga. Odongkaras case is straight forward after the St George goalkeeper failed to recover in time from a knee injury he carried from his club. Thikas experienced Hamza Muwonge is now expected to be between the sticks for the Cranes when the road to Morocco kicks off in earnest. The squad Hamza Muwonge, Ismail Watenga, Isaac Isinde, Denis Guma, Andy Mwesigwa, Henry Kalungi, Savio Kabugo, Joseph Ochaya, Khalid Aucho, Geoffrey Kizito, Hassan Wasswa, Brian Majwega, Luwagga Kizito, Martin Mutumba, Francis Olaki, Emma Okwi, Hamis Kiiza, Dan Serunkuma
