Crazy, crazy week! On my way to 2222 (Brigg) Sqn at the moment and looking forward to watching the presentation of the Marshall Trophy. Tomorrow, I will need to don wellies and raincoat to watch the finals of the Corps football and hockey, but looking forward to presenting prizes to the winning squads. Today was manic in the office - trying desperately to clear the decks before I head off on the trip of a lifetime next week - being hosted by the Hong Kong Air Cadets! Well someone has to do it!😜 Earlier in the week I had to have a few days off for minor medical stuff but ruined my Gp Capts promotion prospects by coming round from the general anaesthetic 😉. And dont panic guys and girls - it was just routine checks and nothing to worry about. Wed was office based, joining the Chaplains Committee meeting and chairing a meeting to discuss 2016 events - some of the ideas are beginning to take shape now and we hope to share the main events matrix on BADER soon so you can see what we have planned and you can deconflict your own Sqn, Wg and regional events to celebrate our 75th birthday. Should be an amazing year! Then headed to London to pre-position for the Council of RFCAs meeting, enjoying a rare evening with student daughter before getting down to work the next day. Also met the new CEO of Youth United, which was very constructive and I hope we can soon show her aspects of the air cadet experience. Headed back to Cranwell last night and had a busy day and, I suspect, a busy weekend ahead if I am going to meet the deadlines on a range of work strands that all suddenly seem to need addressing at once. Chaired 2 staff forums today to keep the HQ staffs up to date and ensured I bought some Children in Need cup cakes as part of the fundraising effort. Several of the staff donned decorative onesies today but I have to confess I forgot to dress up so had to buy extra cakes to compensate. Will probably update this next from Hong Kong! In the interim, have a great weekend everyone, have fun and stay safe.
