Crazy day today, while going to Palo Alto my car runs out of gas on University ave, in the middle of rush hour, what makes matters worse my phone dies on me. While running around asking people where the nearest gas station is in rich ass Palo Alto all i got was scared faces wondering wtf this hairy eyebrowed middle eastern man could possibly want, I called triple A before my battery died in which they told me my plan was expired, my phone then dies. luckily a hispanic couple I met a couple blocks down lent me there phone so that i may call the local shop that would provide service for my out of gas lexus. They told me it would cost 55 dollars to come and 5 dollars extra for each gallon of gas. I agreed. After returning the phone i kept asking cars beside me where the nearest gas station was while looking at passerbyers with there smug faces judging me wondering where this young urban man could have came from. All the while, a working class Hawaiian man sees my distress and tells me to hop in his truck so that we may go get some gas. We talked about our lives and where we come from, (apparently his best friend is Palestinian) and we reach the gas station I fill up some gas and we set out back to my car. Traffic was horrible on University ave, and yet i couldnt feel nothing but happiness and relief that this man took time out of his busy life to help me (he was a construction worker) WHile traffic was heavy we slowly begin to see where my car was parked only to find that there was alot of police men around my car. He tells me to hop out the car and catch up before they tow my car away. I agree. I run out with a tank of gas in my hand running towards teh police officer (not the smartest thing a young palestinian man living in america should do I must admit) I reach the officer and explain to him this is my car, he calls me a dumbass in his own mysterious smug little way and tells me next time he will tow it, and lets me go. Overall pretty hectic day...
