“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm: 51:10 Every now and again, we have to clean out our refrigerators and closets because over time, they can easily become filled with things that are expired, no longer needed, or just don’t fit our needs any more. The same thing goes for our hearts. There is a reason that it is necessary to ask God to create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us - daily. Our hearts can easily become cluttered with old hurts, past pains, and unresolved matters that if we are not careful, could cause us to have a heart of stone and cause us to make decisions that are not in line with the will of God. This can ruin our relationship with others, or worse, it could ruin our witness as Christians. Make no mistake. We are human. We are made of flesh. So, we have to constantly be on guard that our hearts are not corrupt with things that are hindering us from living a blessed and fulfilling life.
