Create meaningful habits before getting so comfortable I love - TopicsExpress

Create meaningful habits before getting so comfortable I love my trips. There is something about being in hotels. By the third day, we all know each other, and people begin sharing all kinds of stories. One of the things that is clearly disturbing me is the continuous tale of people in prestigious positions failing to manage their finances. Last week I was in Mozambique where I met a lady with whom we flowed. In one of our conversations, when we switched to talking about things to do with retirement and planning for the day you wake up with a job coming to an end, I couldn’t believe my ears. The story is about a gentleman I will refer to as Moses (my bro’s name). Moses was shocked to realize his employer was serious when he said after three years, he was not going to enjoy similar benefits. His benefits were those of a dream job: Everything paid for including his drinking water in the house. EVERYTHING. “Moses got depressed,” my narrator said. “He asked for leave. He could not believe it was time for him to leave, and find no other lucrative job.” Moses story is, for all the years he has worked, all he can show for it is a car. No house back at home; no investment, no savings; he is simply an Amazon addict. He has enjoyed the luxuries of one expatriate job after another, and however, this time round, no opening seems to show up. Friends, the moment you get into a job, take care of the exit strategies. It is extremely important that you realized there is nothing that lasts forever when it comes to jobs. Never consider yourself ‘untouchable.’ Be wise as you embark on your job, and do something that shows you were once productive. In Holding each other’s hands all the way sessions, finances are part of our discussions, and financial discipline takes us into thinking about savings, and the use for savings. We use savings for ventures that can eventually attract passive income. That passive income can come in handy when you wake up like Moses. The Malaysian Airlines has been hard hit this year. MH370 disappeared in March, and MH17 was shot down in Ukraine airspace. Despite all the factors being way beyond the airline, they are paying hard for it. Six thousand (6,000) people are losing their jobs in a restructuring process in order for Malaysian Airlines to . Imagine what these individuals and their dependants are going through. Jobs coming to an end are part of us as employees, however, when we still have these jobs, let’s not think of them as our creation. Let’s serve whole heartedly as we invest for ourselves. Discipline with finances starts with small monies. Once you have created great habits, you will not land in Moses’ trouble. You will know better how to manage those finances. A great day to you all.
