Creating a viable judiciary and strengthening its democratic functions have been main concern of Legal fraternity so as to make the legal system functioning in a more efficient and fair manner. Judicial reform is a very complex area involving a multitude of institutions and actors, and the phrase refers to efforts to improve the functioning of a country’s legal system in terms of both fairness and efficiency. The legal system encompasses the entire legal framework, including the Constitution, statutes, regulations, customary law, and international legal obligations, as well as other institutions that interact to form the judicial process. Judicial corruption may be defined as acts or omissions that constitute the use of public authority for the private benefit of judges, court personnel, and other judicial sector personnel that results in the improper and unfair delivery of judicial decisions, biasness in appointment of Judges and court staff , lack of transparency . Such acts and omissions intimidate , influence and abuse the court procedures for personal gain, and all this exert an inappropriate influence on the impartiality of the judicial process by an actor within the court system Perhaps the most important element of judicial reform and anti- corruption move is the independence of the judiciary, including independence from the executive and legislative branches of government and freedom from political and social influences. But we are hearing about reforms for last so many years but neither judiciary is serious to make effort to eliminate the bad elements in the system to create trust of public as well as legal fraternity , nor executive has such a courage to pass appropriate legislations. Kith and Kin culture in legal field is getting stronger and stronger day by day, constitutional immunities are getting misused more frequently than ever before. Gossips in the corridors of the Court Premises are getting murkier. Annexed Bar Associations of the Courts have become den of sycophants and bunch of people who has main concern as to how to milk the opportunity after getting elected and derive personal benefits from it. Mute question is who will bell the cat? Where to start from? Advocates as a member of Bar Associations can do a bit by electing people who are relatively least corrupt, least immoral and can have credential of courage to fight for the rights of memberS\s.
