CreativeMornings group Bangalore in association with Kalarasa Art House presents talk show #11 Failure as A Commodity on August 10, 2014 9:30am - 11:30am IST Kalarasa Art House. Space is limited.. please register @ creativemornings/talks/kavitha-kanaparthi Speaker this month Kavitha Kanaparthi will be speaking on how we approach failure, as a commodity or a product, that is ready for consumption to justify our lack of motivation to continue to deal with life’s intricacies, uncertainties, absurdities and unpredictable challenges. She will weave this in to her work through race experiences, how runners perceive failure, her perceived failures in life and why she believe she never bought failure and brought it home. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Kavitha’s career, spanning 17 years has been fluid, transitioning from one career path in to another, with ease. Starting out on her own with my first company, Design Net Inc, she has worked in the fields of Computer hardware, facilities designing along with interiors, art commissioning, design and execution, qualifying to work for the US government, and then on to sports as a profession. Whether it is an art form, horse riding, musical instrument, physical training or dabbling in poetry writing, her learning experiences keeps her from dwelling on the negative and constantly finding something that allows her to shine through and deal with grievances of life. Kavitha is an Engineer by education, and dreamer, performer by profession. In 2009, Kavitha, as Globeracers, introduced endurance running to India, and organized the first multi-stage ultra-running event, The Thar Run, a 210Kms 5-stage race, in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. Since then, she has had races in various regions of India, such as Rann of Kutch, Himalayas, Western Ghats, Delhi Bhatti Mines and working on races in Mizoram, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh, which includes endurance races both in running, cycling and triathlon fields.
