Crew # 3 New York City High School Mission Team Update The date is Wednesday, July 3rd. Today, my team and I (composed of Aubrey, Jordan, Evan VH, Leah, Rylee, & Trisha Miller [and Austin, Hunter, Brinkley, Amy, Jennifer from another church) didn’t have a lot of physical work to do but we made it the best we could. The construction work that was done started off with a spray that our staff member Cody, brought us. This spray was used to kill the existing mold from the flood and prevent any more from developing. A first coat was applied and we had to wait for it to dry. That process was repeated and we had to wait for it to dry before insulation could be applied. Needless to say, there was a lot of waiting around today, which allowed for a long and great devotional time. During this time, we shared testimonies. Rylee revealed her own story about her family and once again, emotions were shown among the group. Even though we all have gone through tough times, we talked about how we knew God was with us and helping us. After this time, we installed nail boards in the rafters and started with the insulation. Not all of it fit perfectly so the tedious task of cutting the whole strips was unavoidable. Even though we had a lot of free time today, it is very obvious that we are connecting strongly with God, and both within our own group and those from North Carolina. We even had a massage train going at one point! God was present and simply forming friendships that will last a lifetime. -Luke S.
