A SEASONAL STEWARD/ESS DECKHAND POSITION ON VARIOUS YACHTS BASED IN SYDNEY WORK INFORMATION: A yacht management company has a fleet of yachts ranging from 60ft- 90ft, which is based in Sydney. The yacht management agent is looking for a steward/ess/Deckhand to assist him or the owners on their yachts during the weekend and some week day cruises. Your duties will include the following: • Stewarding – Serving drinks and food, strong service skills required as you will needed to set up the table, clean and detail the interior, cabin detailing generally providing a high standard of service both inside and out. So a strong eye to detail is essential. You will be required to steward 70/80% of the time. You will be required to clean the interior to a high standard. Be able to serve wine/champagne comfortably to your guests. Odd occasion make cocktails (simple but tasty cocktails). Help with set up of food platers in the gallery from time to time. • Deckhand – helping with the lines when coming into dock. Assisting the captain on deck with the odd wash-down, maintenance or repairs. You will be required to assist on deck 30%/20% of the time. Having a recreational. license would be a bonus as you may be required to drive the tenders from time to time. The successful candidate must be well presented, have a good attitude and be prepared to work unsupervised. MUST BE A NON-SMOKER!!! THIS IS NOT A LIVE ABOARD POSITION – this is a shore based job!!! Ideal for someone who has been trained and who wants to build their experience over the Summer season before heading overseas with a glowing reference, or someone who has come back from yachting overseas and still wants to be on the water from time to time. Must be able to work unsupervised. QUALIFICATIONS: STCW95, Elements ship board safety, looking for a steward/ess/Deckhand that has had either Crew Pacific’s training or worked on yachts for 6 months. Having your own vehicle is essential. RSA Certificate would be handy but not essential. START DATE: ASAP EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Seasonal position, with possibility of full time employment at the end of the Summer. You will be required to work weekends and be flexible with some weekdays starting immediately between October 2013 through to February 2014. Must be available Boxing Day, New Years Eve and Australia Day. SALARY: AU$25-$30 PER HOUR -PENDING ON PERSONS EXPERIENCE AND WORK ETHICS – if you have a ABN number this would be a bonus.
