Criminals Demanding to Report themselves as a Victim: The genesis of “I’m Oromo first”, its objections and future Implication. The phrase “I’m Oromo first” shouldn’t have been a surprise for free minded individuals especially in the aftermath of the 21st century’s technological and human right advancement. It is an issue known to all Oromos as part of their identity now and then. In otherwords, it is same as calling one’s own name as Smith, Gudeta, Robert or Cala. While The origin of the idea of “I’m Oromo first” should and must be Oromos themselves, at this historical juncture, it appeared to be detonated by external pushing factors that forced Jawar Mahammad and other Oromo nationals to say the phrase obviously known to themselves and the rest of the world. In fact it is a phrase already existing since the time they realized themselves as a human being or Oromos. Subjugations, discriminations, unfair and inhuman treatments, exploitations, etc. are factors urged people, at this specific historical epoch, to resonate the phrase “I’m Oromo First.” It is not something Jawar Mohammad and few Oromos created on Aljazeera interview. Of course, we all Oromos are proud of Jawar and other heroes who would not regret from voicing what they felt and what is right. It is also not something we should say only because we are exposed to countless plights. It is rather our name and identity that always stay with us as long as we continue to exist as human being and as a nation. Hence, “I’m Oromo First” is not a phrase that requires permission from anyone in this world. It is an identity of Oromo individuals, families and nation which the previous and current situations forced them to let the world know who they are and what is happening to them. In introducing oneself, calling owns name or identifying oneself is what is naturally and already exiting which “I’m Oromo First” Opposes wildly condemned and wanted to give permission for Oromo’s before they introduce themselves on International media and when they suffer various plights.. All the discriminations and mindless inhuman treatments caused to Oromo people are happening because they are identified and known as Oromos and organized themselves under the umbrella of Oromo ethnic group. The biggest question is why people who killed, marginalized, hated and made all sorts of evils against Oromo because they are Oromos go wild for the reason they know and identify their names and themselves as Oromos?? Rhetorically, this is another further crime attempt or version of disrespect for the victim of a crime (Oromos) by trying to intimidate not to report a crime incident from which they are suffering agonizing wound and their correct name (the name of the victim). It is obvious that criminals wouldn’t refrain from making all it takes to get their crime hided by any means. Objecting the phrase “I’m an Oromo First” is the same as murder attempt on an Oromo guys because they are Oromos and further attempts to intimidate and force the victim to report their own name or criminals’ name as victim or the name of anti” I’m Oromo First” people to free themselves from the legal consequence of their criminal act and to perpetuate their criminal act. It would also being imprudent to expect criminals to report a crime they have intentionally committed. The next agenda for all Oromos (“I’m Oromo first”) is to keep on exposing criminals and prevent further crimes from happening against themselves, instead of expecting criminals to confess the crime they have intentionally committed and committing. Hand in hand with making further records, it would also be a requirement to protect who are confronting criminals from causing further crimes on our heroes like Jawar Abdi, and thousands of Oromos across the world including those in the main land Oromia.
