Crisis in Ukraine by Tony Huddleston Yea, and all that will live - TopicsExpress

Crisis in Ukraine by Tony Huddleston Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12 Last Sunday during worship services at the church of Christ at Bear Valley Institute, Gorlovka, Ukraine, a group of armed insurgents entered and took over their building. This is the first instance of religious persecution we have heard about since the unrest began back in February. Under threat of violence, the members had to gather up their possessions and leave the building. The insurgents said they would destroy any items not removed. This church is only a few miles away from Krasnoarmeysk, the church we support in Ukraine. The minister there, Sasha Rodnaev, has attended and taught school at Bear Valley. Sasha has asked for prayers for the church there and for their families. We are all deeply saddened by what has happened, and they urgently need all our prayers. The recent shootings at the voting site in Krasnoarmeysk and the recent attack on the church comes just when we were very near purchasing property there. There is no way we could have foreseen these events, and we feel the best course at this time is to wait. This incident opened my eyes to the fact that peace is fragile, and can be quickly lost. Only four months ago, all was peaceful in Ukraine, but now there is turmoil. We should all pray for America as well, as no country is immune from such problems. Satan is always trying to persecute those striving to live for God. As the psalmist says in Psalms 25:1-2, always put your trust in God. Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
