Critical Skills Work Visa - SOUTH AFRICA There are certain skills and qualifications which are deemed critical by the government of South Africa. In these instances, foreigners with such qualifications and/or skills may be able to obtain a Critical Skills Work Visa. Applicants wishing to apply for the Critical Skills Work Visa need to make sure their skills and/or qualifications match those required. A Critical Skills Work Visa shall be issued for under 5 years. A spouse and dependent children of a holder of a Critical Skills Work Visa shall be issued with an appropriate visa valid for a period that does not exceed the period of validity of the applicant’s Critical Skills Work Visa
