Criticizing some parts of faith is very different thing from blind criticism and hatred of followers of that faith. Faiths are ideas, no ideas are above scrutiny, followers are humans, humans have rights, the most important being right to life and right to dignity. Hatred towards people who subscribe to a particular faith is outright bigotry while differentiating between followers and the ideas they subscribe to and criticizing the evils in idea is what progressive criticism is called. For Instance, I am a Pushtoon and am proud (not chauvinist) of my culture, arts, language and traditions but there are things wrong in my culture, society, even in Pushtoonwali (Pushtoon code of honor). If someone criticizes the evils in my culture, traditions and society, I will not label that person a bigot, the person is doing me a favor. But if that person says that because there exists NANG (a Pushtoon honor code for killing anyone who violates sanctity of your family) in Pushtoon culture, so all Pushtoons must be evil and monsters who dont think for a second time to behead someone is what BIGOT looks like.
