Cross Canada tour begins Hundreds flock to hear Jeff Halper in various cities across Canada Come hear Jeff Halper in Ottawa 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28th See below for ticket information The cross Canada tour by Dr. Jeff Halper got off to an amazing start this week, with hundreds of Canadians coming out to hear his presentation in several Canadian cities. The tour is jointly organized by IJV-Canada, and UNJPPI, a ginger group of human rights activists inside the United Church of Canada. It has been endorsed by a several Canadian churches including the United Church, the Anglican Church, United Friends Service Committee (Quakers) and the Mennonite Central Committee. It has also been endorsed by the Canadian Union of Postal workers. Halper is a Jewish Israeli peace activist and the founder of the Israeli Committee against House Demolitions. His first public event of the tour was in Waterloo, where he spoke to a crowd of more than 250 curious people at Wilfred Laurier University. He also had a private function in which more than $2000 was raised to help the work of the Israeli committee Against House Demolitions. (icahd.org) The next day it was the same story in London, Ontario, where the crowd was approximately 100, according to Curtis Marwood, the local organizer. After that, he headed off to Toronto where he had several meetings, including a a major speaking engagement at Beit Zatoun. Another 130 people crowded into the theatre at Beit Zeitoun to hear Jeff talk about Israel’s armaments industry. Halper was in Hamilton, Ontario on Friday night speaking at Centenary United Church before heading to Montreal. He will be speaking in Ottawa on January 28th.
