Cross Country season wrap-up Congratulations to the 2014 Meridian Cross Country Team on a fabulous season! Our team of 33 runners competed in several Austin area invitational meets, ending the season with the TCSAAL State Meet. Middle School Boys Team (7th/8th grade) - 3rd place overall at Liberty Hill, St. Andrews Invitationals, & TCSAAL State Meet Alvin Gusman, 7th grader took 2nd in the state. Caden Jones and Weston Orsbonne placed in the top 10. Middle School team members included Meg Asbury, Alysia Leightenheimer, Sofia Roybal, Nicholas Brainard, Mark Brockhausen, Neal Davar, Everett Groff, Alvin Gusman, John Harris, Dylan Holbrook, Caden Jones, Yajat Jotwani, Benjamin Mallory, Aidan Myers, Mohit Nadkarni, Weston Osborn, Fenrando Sandoval, Kevin Sheth, Taimour Tareen, and Giovanni Valladares High School runners also had a terrific season filled with growth and speed. Victoria Ayala, 9th grader, STATE CHAMPION and set her own personal record (PR). Nathan Leightenheimer, Christian Vu, Rebecca Mallory and Rachel Brockhausen placed in the top 10 at the state meet. High School team members included Thad Costilla, Thomas Dixon, Nathan Leightenheimer, Jared Panico, Joseph Roybal, Trey Smith, Anthony Trefney, Christian Vu, Victoria Ayala, Rachel Brockenhausen, Annaliesa Flores, Rebecca Mallory, and Annelise Richards Were so proud of each and every athlete, as they all exhibited perseverance, teamwork, and true dedication.
