Crossover/Thrash band Urban Assault was formed in Johannesburg in 1989, and broke through in 1992 with the album Dont Bother Running - Youll Just Die Tired (Inhouse Records). Bassist Dirk Mrozek, Drummer Sven McAlpine and Guitarist Michael Gill parted ways shortly after the release of the album. The band ceased performing in late 1997. In May 2014, 22 years after they last shared a stage, Mrozek, McAlpine and Gill will reunite with Clifford Crabb, founder member/vocalist for Agro and former founding member of the bands Retribution Denied and Sacrifist, Paul Verster (Lead Guitar). The band will perform a mini set of classic Urban Assault songs in support of headlining band Agro on May 3, Rumours Lounge in Weltervreden Park, Johannesburg.
