Croton-on-Hudson- Parent and Child Beginner-Sewing Class @ Groovy on Grand, Saturday, 12/6, 10 am-1 pm, $125, Mom or Dad and their child (aged 6 through 18) will start out learning the basic sewing tools and all the parts of a sewing machine. Students will learn how to thread a sewing machine and how to wind and thread a bobbin. They will practice straight-stitch sewing on samplers, then select from a wide variety of fabrics and measure and cut their fabric and pin and sew it up into an envelope-style pillow case.
